LOS GANCHITOS
Behavior, participation and work habits in Spanish class
“LOS GANCHITOS” (links) It Is part of our behavior system in Spanish class. Students earn three links daily for: good participation, good behavior and good work. When the whole class reaches 30 links (GANCHITOS) they get a reward of their choice. Many students request to have “Churros” from the Hispanic bakery. Other asked for Spanish movies and some want to play educational games in Spanish as a reward.
I love to encourage my students to use their Spanish skill in conversations. Sometimes, they think that they do not have enough Spanish to use in conversation. However, when I talk to them in Spanish; many know enough Spanish to answer back to me and even ask a few things.
Please encourage your child daily to use his or her Spanish skills daily.

January 6th Three Kings Celebrations 2010
In many Hispanic countries, Three Kings Day is celebrated in different ways. Some children have to wait until the 6th of January to get presents. Children leave their shoes under the bed with hay and the Three Kings Melchor, Baltazar and Gaspar leave presents next to each child's shoe. The horses or camels eat the hay. Other children leave notes on their shoes with their names on it so the Three Kings know who to leave presents to. In some countries the 6th of January is celebrated with parades, food and the popular Kings cake is eaten.
